As used in this Chapter, the following terms shall have these
prescribed meanings:
- CITY AMBULANCE
- Any ambulance owned or operated by the City of Pleasant Valley.
- FIRE DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR
- That person or persons the Board of Aldermen shall designate to control the City ambulance or to request assistance of outside ambulance service.
- OUTSIDE AMBULANCE SERVICE
- Any ambulance owned or operated by public or private persons other than the City ambulance.

Cooperation by the City Ambulance with all other public or private
persons is encouraged with priority to be given to providing service
to the residents and occurrences in the City of Pleasant Valley, Missouri.

A.
Resident Rate. The City ambulance shall charge to the person or persons
transported at the rate of seven hundred dollars ($700.00) per person
transported, plus thirteen dollars ($13.00) per loaded mile and cost
of expendable supplies.
B.
Non-Transport ALS Rate. The City ambulance fee of seven hundred dollars
($700.00) shall also be charged to all persons who receive advanced
life support (ALS) services or intervention, regardless of whether
said person is transported by the City ambulance. Advanced life support
is emergency medical care for sustaining life, including, but not
limited to, defibrillation, airway management, IV therapy, electrocardiogram
interpretation and drugs and medications.
C.
Non-Resident Rate. The City ambulance shall charge to the person
or persons transported at the rate of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00)
per person transported, plus thirteen dollars ($13.00) per loaded
mile.
D.
All fees for services provided under this Chapter shall be collectible
by a statement issued and, at the discretion of the Fire Department
Director, if not paid within thirty (30) days, by suit for the amount
due plus attorney fees and costs.

The Fire Department Director is hereby authorized to allow the
City ambulance to respond to calls outside the City limits, if requested
and such calls do not impair necessary service within this City.

The charges and services provided herein are solely a function
of the Police powers of the City and, in spite of nominal fees, are
not proprietary so that all persons who seek to use the facilities
agree, that as a condition thereof, the City of Pleasant Valley shall
not be responsible or liable for the consequences or any damages sustained
by the user, nor for failure of service.

A.
Any
person who shall call or aid and abet a call for emergency ambulance
service which is false or as a prank shall, upon conviction, be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor.
