The regular meetings of the Board of Aldermen shall be held on the second Monday of each month, unless otherwise scheduled as provided below. The Board can vote to reschedule the meeting if the regular meeting date falls on a holiday. The Mayor can also direct the meeting be held on a different date due to emergencies, hazardous weather, lack of a quorum, or other reasons which prohibit the meeting being held on the scheduled date.

The Mayor, or any two members of the Board of Aldermen, may call a special meeting at any time by notifying all the members of the Board twenty-four (24) hours in advance. The Board may conduct any and all business at special meetings in accordance with the same procedures of regular meetings.

Written public notice of all meetings shall be provided for at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the meeting by posting a tentative agenda at the City Hall and at the location where the meeting will be held, if different. The City Clerk is responsible for posting public notice of the meeting and ensuring said notice complies with all requirements prescribed by the Revised Statutes of Missouri.

All regular and special meetings of the Board of Aldermen shall be held at the City Hall in the City of Ironton, unless another location is needed due to an emergency or anticipated need for a larger meeting space. In such cases, the Mayor can direct the meeting be held at an alternate location. The Board of Aldermen shall periodically establish, by resolution, the scheduled start time of each regular and special meeting.

Members Of Board To Vote. Every member present, when a question shall be put, shall vote, unless the Board for good reason excuses him/her.
B. 
Motions, Etc., Reduced To Writing — When. Every motion or proposition shall be reduced to writing, if required by any member, before the same shall be considered by the Board.
C. 
Robert's Rules Of Order To Govern. The Board of Aldermen in their proceedings shall be governed by the Robert's Rules of Order governing parliamentary proceedings, except as provided in these rules and the ordinances of the City.
