A. The
Mayor with the approval of a majority of the members of the Board
of Alderpersons shall appoint a Chief of Police who shall perform
all duties required of the Marshal by law and any other Police Officers
found by the Board of Alderpersons to be necessary for the good government
of the City. The Chief of Police shall be twenty-one (21) years of
age or older.
B. The
Chief of Police shall receive compensation at the rate of forty-eight
thousand eight hundred eighty dollars ($48,880.00) per year, plus
sixty dollars ($60.00) per month clothing allowance, plus all other
fringe benefits or compensation provided for other full-time employees
of the City.

Job duties and responsibilities of the Chief of Police shall
be determined by the Mayor and Board of Alderpersons and shall be
governed by local, State and Federal laws. Such job duties and responsibilities
shall be subject to periodic revision in the interest of improving
the overall effectiveness of the Pagedale Police Department.
