Within twenty (20) days after the election in April of each
year or as soon thereafter as practical, the Mayor may appoint, subject
to the approval of the Board of Alderpersons, a Building Commissioner
who shall hold his/her office for one (1) year or until his/her successor
is appointed and qualified, unless sooner removed from office by the
Board of Alderpersons, whose duty it shall be to enforce the provisions
of the Building Code of the City and to perform such other duties
as may be provided for by ordinance.
