The special fund known as the Gun Buy-Back Fund shall be maintained
by the City of Pawtucket for the funding of gun buy-back programs
run by the City of Pawtucket.
The Gun Buy-Back Fund shall be maintained by any remaining funds
raised for prior gun buy-back programs, and by public donations, public
and private grants and other revenue derived for this purpose.
The Director of Finance shall set up a special revenue fund
to be used specifically for the purpose described.
The Director of Finance shall have the authority and discretion
to allocate and disburse those funds that the Chief of Police deems
necessary to fund gun buy-back programs.
The Chief of Police is hereby authorized to exercise control
over those funds that are ultimately disbursed by the Director of
Finance.
The Chief of Police shall submit an annual report to the City
Council outlining the planned expenditures relative to the Gun Buy-Back
Fund.
