A. 
The Mayor may, with the advice and consent of the Board of Aldermen, appoint one (1) person to fulfill the obligations and assume the duties of more than one (1) office; provided, however, as follows:
1. 
Neither the Mayor nor any member of the Board of Aldermen may serve as an appointive officer.
2. 
If a person is appointed to more than one (1) office, then the Mayor shall designate which office shall be the primary office. The person so appointed shall then receive the salary designated for the primary office, and shall receive no further compensation for further official duties, unless the Board shall first so provide by ordinance.
3. 
No person appointed to one (1) of the following offices shall be appointed to any other office shown in the following list:
a. 
Chief of Police (except that the Chief of Police may serve as a policeman and/or patrolman).
b. 
Policeman or Patrolman.
c. 
City Clerk.
d. 
Public Works Superintendent.

A. 
The offices of City Clerk and City Collector are hereby combined, and the person so serving as City Clerk and Collector shall be charged with all the duties of both offices as established by statute or ordinance.
B. 
The person so serving as City Clerk and Collector shall be paid a salary equal to the salary established by ordinance for the City Clerk, and no further salary shall be paid for the performance of duties of the City Collector.

A. 
The offices of City Clerk and Treasurer are hereby combined, and the person so serving as City Clerk and Treasurer shall be charged with all the duties of both offices as established by statute or ordinance.
B. 
The person so serving as City Clerk and Treasurer shall be paid a salary equal to the salary established by ordinance for the City Clerk, and no further salary shall be paid for the performance of duties of the Treasurer.

A. 
The offices of Superintendent of Public Works and Building Inspector are hereby combined, and the person so serving shall be charged with all the duties of both offices as established by statute or ordinance.
B. 
The person so serving shall be paid a salary established by ordinance, and no further salary shall be paid for the performance of duties of the Superintendent of Public Works and/or the duties of Building Inspector.
