Pursuant to the provisions of § 1224, Subdivision
6(a), of the Vehicle and Traffic Law and the rules and regulations
of the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, the Town of Riverhead is hereby
authorized to convert up to 1% of its unclaimed abandoned vehicles
or two such vehicles, whichever is greater, to its own use in any
calendar year. This shall be in addition to any vehicles whose title
is vested immediately in the Town of Riverhead pursuant to § 1224,
Subdivision 2, of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
