§ 190-500 Purpose.

The purpose of the P-1 Active Public Park District is to designate publicly owned lands which are reserved for active recreation in public parks and to establish regulations for the use of land for public park purposes.

§ 190-501 Authorized uses.

Hiking, walking, biking and exercise trails

Outdoor plant and wildlife sanctuary; outdoor nature study area

Grass or other natural playing surfaces
d. 
Playgrounds, creative play equipment

Outdoor fields for sports activities, including, but not limited to: football, baseball, softball, lacrosse, rugby, soccer, golf and field hockey
f. 
Outdoor areas devoted to winter sports such as ice skating, skiing, sledding and similar activities

Community gardens, subject to § 1303.17

Outdoor courts for basketball, volleyball, shuffleboard, horseshoes, tennis, racquetball, handball and similar activities, subject to § 1303.17

Picnic facilities, pavilions and shelters, subject to § 1303.17

§ 190-502 Area and bulk regulations.

In the P-1 Active Public Park District, all uses shall be subject to the following regulations, except as they may be modified by the express standards and criteria for the specific conditional uses and uses by special exception contained in Article XIII.

MINIMUM LOT AREA:
Community Park: 5 acres
Neighborhood Park: 1 acre
All other parks, parklets and recreation areas None required
B. 
MINIMUM LOT WIDTH:
Community Park: 100 feet
Neighborhood Park: 50 feet
All other parks, parklets and recreation areas: 25 feet
C. 
MAXIMUM LOT COVERAGE: 25%
D. 
MINIMUM FRONT YARD:
Abutting any "R" District: 50 feet
All Others: 20 feet
E. 
MINIMUM REAR YARD:
1. 
All principal structures:
Abutting any "S" or "R" District: 50 feet
All Others: 25 feet

All accessory structures: 25 feet
F. 
MINIMUM SIDE YARD:
