An Airport Board is hereby established consisting of five (5) members who shall be electors of the City and shall serve for a term of one (1) year or until a successor is duly appointed.

Appointments to the Airport Board shall be made by the Mayor, and all such appointments shall be confirmed by a majority of the members of the Council. Vacancies in the Board shall be filled by appointment and approval of the majority of the Council, and any person appointed to fill a vacancy shall serve for the unexpired term of his/her predecessor.

The Airport Board shall have control and supervision of the airport now belonging to the City. All work, maintenance and improvements in connection with such airport shall be done under the direct control and supervision of the Board. The Board shall have the power to formulate rules and regulations concerning the use and operation of such airport.

The Airport Board members, immediately after their appointment, shall meet and organize by electing one (1) of their number President, and by the election of such other officers as they may deem necessary. Meetings of the Board may be held upon the call of the President or upon the call of any member of the Board. A majority of the qualified members shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business.

Any member of the Airport Board may be removed or dismissed from his/her office in the same manner as provided by law and ordinance relating to removal and dismissal of appointed officers.
