As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
TAG SALE
The sale of new and/or used items offered for sale, barter or trade to the general public when conducted in whole or in part within a residential or agricultural zone.
No person shall conduct a tag sale in the Town unless s/he shall have obtained a license therefor from the Selectboard. The license shall be exhibited in a conspicuous place during the sale. All tag sale licenses shall be for not more than a seventy-two-hour period, and the sale shall be limited to hours of operation from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Fees for such tag sale licenses shall be $10 per license.
A tag sale may be conducted only from the owner's primary residence, and no more than four tag sales may be conducted from a residence per calendar year.
No notices, advertising signs or directional signs are to be attached to utility poles.

Whoever violates any provision of this chapter shall be punished by a fine as set forth in Chapter 1, § 1-6, of the Town Code. Enforcement of penalties is granted to the South Hadley Police Department.
