A. 
The following Parks Department regulations apply to all of the parks and playgrounds maintained by the South Hadley Department of Public Works. These parks include, but may not be limited to, Beachgrounds Park, Buttery Brook Park, Town Farm Park, Town Common, Canal Park, Frank Smith Park (by the Firehouse Museum), Lecca Park (Morgan Street at East Street), Ryder Park (Lamb Street at Bridge Street), and the parks at the Plains School, Mosier School, Middle School, High School, and former Center School.
B. 
For the purpose of this article, the term "park" shall be defined as the parks listed in Subsection A of this section and shall include all incidental Town-owned property in the vicinity of each park. This property includes, but is not limited to, all playgrounds, spray parks, athletic fields, parking lots, picnic areas, sidewalks, and driveways.
No person shall drink any alcoholic beverages or possess an open container of alcohol at any park unless a special alcohol permit (beer and wine) has been issued by the Selectboard in accordance with Chapter 110, Alcoholic Beverages, § 110-3, of the Town Bylaws.
A. 
No person shall dispose of any litter at any park except in containers placed for such purposes.
B. 
No person shall deposit household trash, hazardous waste, wastes included in the current waste ban regulations, or any other inappropriate wastes at any park.
C. 
No person shall apply graffiti to any Town-owned property at any park.
No person shall play or practice golf at any park.
A. 
No privately owned animals are allowed in any park. No dogs are allowed in any park with the exception of a park(s) specifically designed for dogs and their owners and where regulations have been established, accepted, posted and approved by the South Hadley Selectboard, as per the Town Bylaw, except for service dogs.

B. 
No person shall disturb any Town-owned animals at any park.
C. 
No person shall feed any Town-owned animals.
No person shall sell any goods or wares in any park without prior approval of the Selectboard or its designee.[1]

No person shall start any fires in any park without prior approval of the Department of Public Works or its designee.
B. 
No person shall use any privately owned grill at any park without prior approval of the Department of Public Works or its designee.
A. 
No person shall drive any automobile or motorcycle on any park property not intended for vehicular traffic without prior approval of the Department of Public Works.
B. 
No person shall drive any snowmobile, all-terrain vehicle, or any other motorized vehicle that cannot be legally driven on a public street on any park property without prior approval of the Department of Public Works.

A. 
No person shall bring any firearm to any park without prior approval of the Selectboard.
B. 
No person shall bring any weapons (including, but not limited to, slingshots, bow and arrows, crossbows, and BB guns) to any park without prior approval of the Selectboard.
C. 
No person shall bring any fireworks to any park without prior approval of the Selectboard.

No person is allowed to camp at any park without prior approval of the Department of Public Works.
All park visitors must follow any reasonable directions from Parks Department employees and any other individuals designated by the Department of Public Works. Any person who fails to follow reasonable instructions shall forfeit his/her right to use the park.
Rollerskating, rollerblading, skateboarding, and bike riding are only allowed in the Buttery Brook Park Skatepark.
No person is allowed to create a nuisance or disturbance at any park. Nuisances may include, but are not limited to, loud music, the use of bullhorns, preventing others from using park facilities, soliciting park visitors, and preventing Parks Department employees and individuals designated by the Department of Public Works from performing their duties.
Group outings/picnics are not permitted without the prior approval of the Department of Public Works. For the purpose of this section, a "group outing" is an organized event involving 12 or more participants.
Rentals at Buttery Brook Park will be in accordance with the Buttery Brook Park Rental Agreement shown in Appendix G.[1]
