No person shall demolish an existing building within the Town of Algoma until a permit to demolish or remove said building shall be issued by the Building Inspector.
Applications for demolition or removal of a building shall be made in writing to the Town Building Inspector upon forms furnished by the Building Inspector including such information as he may from time to time require and shall be accompanied by the required permit fee set by the Town Board.

No permit for demolition or removal of a building shall be issued until the owner or agent shall notify all utilities having service connections within the building such as water, electric, gas, sewer and other connections and until a release has been issued from the utilities stating that their respective service connections and pertinent equipment, such as meters and regulators, have been removed or sealed and plugged in a safe manner. Written notice must also be given by the applicant to the owners of the adjoining lots and to the owners of wires or other buildings of which the temporary removal may be necessitated by the proposed work before such permit may be issued.
Whenever a building is demolished or removed, the premises shall be maintained free from all unsafe or hazardous conditions by the proper regulation of the lot, restoration of established grades and the erection of the necessary retaining walls and fences in accordance with the ordinances and orders of the Building Inspector.
