(a)
The use charges for sewer accommodations shall be in accordance with
the regulations established by the Narragansett Bay Sewer Commission.
These charges payable to the Narragansett Bay Sewer Commission may
be modified and changed by the commission in accordance with state
law.
(b)
A table of charges set by the Narragansett Bay Sewer Commission is
available in the Town Clerk's office.

The schedule of sewer assessment rates for sewers within the
Town is available in the Town Clerk's office and is also set out in
appendix C to the Code (Schedule of fees and charges).

The Town regularly provides services to maintain the sewer system
including, but not limited to maintenance, collections and administration
and shall be entitled to charge the users of the Town sewer system
an annual fee to compensate the Town for services provided.

There shall be a sewer use maintenance and operation fee established
which said fee shall bear a reasonable relation to the cost to the
Town for services provided by the Town to maintain the sewer system.

(a)
The annual fee will be paid by the owner of each building which is
tied into the Town sewer system. The annual fee shall be $40 per (EDU)
equivalent dwelling unit, until further amended by the Town Council.
One EDU charge will be billed per each single-family housing unit.
For example, a two-unit residential building will be charged $80,
a three-unit residential building will be charged $120, etc.
(b)
Equivalent dwelling units (EDU) billing categories will equate each
commercial and industrial sewer user to a single-family residential
user. A single-family residential user is established by determining
annual wastewater consumption, using the state department of environmental
management's value which equals 220 HCF per EDU per year. There will
be three commercial and industrial billing categories based on consumption
ranges as measured by annual wastewater consumption in terms of HCF
and listed on the following table. All category C1/I1 users will be
charged for two EDU's or $80 and all C2/I2 sewer users will be charged
for nine EDU's or $360; and C3/I3 sewer users will be charged for
18 EDU's or $720 plus $0.15 per HCF > 4,000 HCF.

The sewer use maintenance and operation fee shall be due on
March 1 of each year, commencing June 1, 2003, and shall be paid within
30 days thereafter or within 30 days after the mailing of notice of
the annual sewer use maintenance and operation fee, whichever is later.
Payments not made within 30 days as aforementioned shall accure interest
at the rate of 12% per annum.
