Pursuant to the New Jersey Uniform Fire Safety Act, the New
Jersey Uniform Fire Code shall be locally enforced in the municipalities
participating in the Regional Fire Prevention Alliance (Boroughs of
Barrington, Hi-Nella, Lawnside, Magnolia, Mount Ephraim and Oaklyn).
The local enforcing agency shall be the Borough of Barrington,
through its Bureau of Fire Prevention, operating as the Regional Fire
Prevention Alliance.
The local enforcement agency shall enforce the New Jersey Uniform
Fire Safety Act and the codes and regulations adopted under it in
all buildings, structures and premises within the established boundaries
of the participating municipalities who are members of the Regional
Fire Prevention Alliance.

A.
The local enforcing agency established by § 183-2 shall carry out non-life-hazard inspection uses and/or activities. Failure to register with this office within 30 days of receipt of bill will result in your annual fee being doubled. If doubled annual registration fee is not paid within 60 days, then that will result in court and legal action. The annual registration fees for non-life-hazard uses and/or activities will be as set forth in § 165-10 as amended.
All buildings, structures and premises owned by the Boroughs
participating in the L.E.A., fire stations and EMS stations, if classified
as non-life hazard, although not exempt from registration or inspection,
will be exempt from paying an inspection fee as pursuant to this article.
The Borough of Barrington, through its Bureau of Fire Prevention,
operating as the Regional Fire Prevention Alliance, hereby adopts
the New Jersey Uniform Fire Safety Act.
All fines and penalties collected by the enforcing agency established by § 183-2 of this article shall be appropriated by the local body to the local enforcing agency for the purpose of enforcing the provisions of this chapter.

All properties within the Borough of Mount Ephraim having a
fire alarm system or a fire sprinkler system shall be equipped with
a key box. This shall not apply to owner-occupied one- and two-family
dwellings.
The rapid-entry key boxes shall contain the following:
A.
Keys to locked points of egress, whether on interior or exterior
of such buildings;
B.
Keys to the locked mechanical rooms;
C.
Keys to the locked elevator rooms;
D.
Keys to any fence or secured areas;
E.
Keys to any other areas as directed by the Fire Chief;
F.
Keys to the elevator control rooms;
G.
A floor plan of the rooms within the building;
H.
MSDS sheets and other chemical data sheets as required by the Fire
Chief.
All existing buildings shall comply with this article within
12 months of its effective date or upon the next scheduled periodic
inspection, whichever comes first. All newly constructed buildings
not yet occupied or buildings currently under construction shall comply
immediately.
Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions
of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable as provided
in the New Jersey Uniform Fire Safety Act.
