This chapter provides for the control of the subdivision and
development of land and the approval of plats and replats of land
within the jurisdiction of the Borough as ordained by the Borough
Council of the Borough under the authority of the Pennsylvania Municipalities
Planning Code, as amended.[1]

This chapter shall be known and may be cited as "The Subdivision
and Land Development Ordinance of the Borough of Boyertown."
A.
The purpose of this chapter shall be to provide standards to guide
the subdivision, resubdivision, and development of land within the
Borough in order to promote the public health, safety, and convenience
and the general welfare of the residents and inhabitants of the Borough.
B.
This chapter shall be administered to assure orderly growth and development
consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance[1] for the Borough; to assure the protection and proper use
of land; to assure adequate provisions for traffic circulation, drainage,
utilities, recreation facilities, erosion and sediment control, and
public services; to assure development consistent with the natural
features of the Borough; to assure properly designed streets and neighborhoods;
and to assure coordination of design among adjoining developments.
