The office of Building Inspector is hereby created and the executive
official in charge shall be known as the "Building Inspector."
The Building Inspector shall be appointed by the President of
the Village. His appointment shall continue during good behavior and
satisfactory service. He shall not be removed from office except for
cause after full opportunity has been given him to be heard on specific
charges.
During the temporary absence or disability of the Building Inspector,
the appointing authority shall designate an Acting Building Inspector.

It shall be the duty of the Building Inspector to enforce all
laws relating to the construction, alteration, removal, and demolition
of buildings and structures.
A. The Building Inspector or his designee shall have full power to pass upon any question arising under the provisions of Chapter
127, Building Code, and Chapter
132, Buildings, Dangerous, of the Village Code, subject to the conditions, modifications and limitations contained in those chapters.
B. The Building Inspector or his designee is authorized to demolish
or repair or cause the demolition or repair of dangerous buildings
or incomplete buildings or repair of dangerous buildings or incomplete
buildings or abandoned buildings within the territorial limits of
the Village.
The Building Inspector, in the discharge of his official duties,
and upon proper identification, shall have authority to enter any
building, structure, or premises at any reasonable hour.
