In an effort to protect the public health, safety, and general
welfare, the maintenance of roads and traffic management, quality
of air emission, groundwater, public drinking water, and given the
population density, mining operations shall be prohibited in the Village
of Clayton.
In an effort to maintain the character of the municipality and
protect the public health, safety, and general welfare, no person,
firm, or corporation shall be allowed to engage in the business of
collecting, peddling, dealing in or storing waste paper, rags, old
metals, salvaged motor vehicles, or other material commonly known
as junk. Junkyards shall be prohibited in the Village of Clayton.
In an effort to maintain the character of the municipality and
protect the public health, safety, and general welfare, no person,
firm, or corporation shall be allowed to establish a kennel within
the Village.

Purpose. It is the intention of the Village Board of the Village
of Clayton to establish and impose restrictions upon the construction
and operation of outdoor woodburning furnaces within the limits of
the Village for the purpose of securing and promoting the public health,
comfort, convenience, safety, welfare and prosperity of the Village
and its inhabitants.

OUTDOOR WOODBURNING FURNACE
Definition. As used in this section, the following term shall have
the following meaning:
An accessory structure, designed and intended, through the
burning of wood, for the purpose of heating the principal structure,
or any other site structure on the premises.

Prohibition. The construction and operation of outdoor woodburning
furnaces are hereby prohibited within the Village of Clayton.
