[Adopted 9-29-1992 by Ord. No. MC 2958 (Ch. 187, Art. II, of the 1981 Revised Code)]
[Amended 11-9-2010 by Ord. No. MC 3428]
A.
Registration of vehicles. Any vehicle towed from a parking area in the Township must be checked in and registered at the Irvington Public Safety Department on Civic Square in the Township. It will not be required for the Irvington Police to first issue a summons before said vehicle is towed.
[Amended 10-14-2015 by Ord. No. MC 3553]
B.
Owners' issuance of identification. The owner of the parking space assigned and/or leased to a resident must provide the resident with an identification card or placard for the particular space which has been designated as his or her official parking space. The resident who rents and/or leases the space may notify and request vehicle to be towed from their space if such is not authorized to park in same. Upon the arrival of the towing company, the resident must show official proof that such space has officially been assigned or designated to him or her. The owner or his agent maintains the right to have the vehicle towed, also if same is not authorized to be parked in the space in question.
No car can be towed from private property unless it violates existing parking regulations, i.e., fire lane, driveway or abandoned, etc.
Absence of a valid parking permit as issued by the property owner does not constitute valid grounds for towing if the owner of the car lives at that location, the car is registered at that location and the car is otherwise properly parked.
