The fee for a tow (car) from private property shall be as set forth in this chapter. Such fee shall include any winching that the tow truck may have to perform. There shall be no additional charge for winching.
All towing companies who wish to do business in the Township of Irvington must remit an annual licensing fee as set forth in this chapter. In addition thereto, each vehicle used for towing shall be assessed a charge as set forth in this chapter. Said vehicle must display a properly retained decal provided by the Township of Irvington. The above fees are mandatory and without exception. Any company who fails to register and attempts to operate without proper registration credentials shall be subjected to a fine as set forth in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article III, Penalties, of the Township Code.
A. 
All vehicles towed from the Township of Irvington must be towed to a lot or facility within a four-mile radius of the Township.
B. 
All cars towed must be brought to the Irvington Police Station at Civic Square for inspection and to be logged in on police records.
C. 
Towing company, complex owner, lot owner or building owner must install signage at each and every entrance and exit of their respective parking lots. Such sign must be a minimum 36 inches by 24 inches high with a minimum letter height of two inches. The sign shall list the following information:
(1) 
Name of towing company;
(2) 
Address of company lot or lots;
(3) 
Telephone number to towing lot;
(4) 
The time of parking on property for residents or visitors.
D. 
The lot should be open 24 hours a day.
