The provisions of this article imposing a time limit on parking
shall not relieve any person of the duty to observe other and more
restrictive provisions prohibiting or limiting the stopping, standing
or parking of vehicles as set forth in N.J.S.A. 39:4-138, any other
New Jersey statute or as hereinafter provided.

A. No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule I (§
620-94), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
B. No person shall park or cause to be parked any eighteen-wheeler vehicle
and/or eighteen-wheeler cab in the Township of Irvington.
C. No person shall park or cause to be parked any type of bus vehicles
in the Township of Irvington.
(1) Definitions. As used in this section, the following terms shall have
the meanings indicated:
BUS VEHICLE(S)
Any bus or nonconforming van vehicle with a passenger capacity
of more than 10 persons.
NONCONFORMING VAN(S)
Any vehicle which does not conform to the applicable Federal
Motor Vehicle Safety Standards for transport bus vehicle(s) used to
transport passengers.
(2) In accordance with §
620-94 (Schedule I: No Parking), no person shall park or cause to be parked any bus vehicle in the Township of Irvington.
D. No person shall park or cause to be parked any type of motor vehicle:
In/on lawns
Rear yards
Front yards
Side yards
Across sidewalks
Across driveways
Across garages
Across carports
In/on vacant lots
Nor shall any person jump the curb (driving over a curb without
an apron) to park in areas that are not delineated as parking spaces
E. No person shall park or cause to be parked any type of motor vehicle:
Within a designated public bus stop
Within 50 feet of a stop sign
Within 10 feet of a fire hydrant
Within 25 feet of the nearest crosswalk
Within 50 feet of the nearest railroad crossing
Within an intersection
In front of a public/private driveway that prevents a vehicle
from entering/exiting
On a crosswalk
In any appropriately marked "no parking" space
Double parked on the roadway in such a way that impedes, block,
obstructs or hinders the normal flow of vehicular or pedestrian traffic
on that roadway
No person shall park a vehicle between the hours specified in Schedule II (§
620-95) of any day (except Sundays and public holidays) upon any of the streets or parts of streets described
in said Schedule II, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stop or stand a vehicle during the times specified in Schedule III (§
620-96) of any day (except Sundays and public holidays) upon any of the streets or parts of streets described
in said Schedule III, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle for longer than the time limit shown in Schedule IV (§
620-97) at any time between the hours listed in said Schedule IV of any day (except Sundays and public holidays) upon any of the streets or parts of streets described
in said Schedule IV, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule V (§
620-98), attached to and made a part of this chapter, except at the angle designated and only within the painted white stall lines.

Any vehicle found within the Township of Irvington may be impounded
or immobilized by the Department of Public Safety if there are any
outstanding warrants against the vehicle.

A. No person shall park a vehicle between the hours and days specified in Schedule VA (§
620-99) upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule VA, attached to and made a part of this chapter, unless said person is a resident of the street.
B. Residents' vehicles must receive and display a parking permit provided
by the Township of lrvington.
C. Vehicles parked in violation of this section shall be subject to towing, and the vehicle owners shall be subject to the fines set forth in §
620-4B.
D. Fees and limitation on permits.
(1) There is a fee of $35 per year with a limit of two parking permits,
and any request beyond two is $50 per permit with a limit of two.
For any permit purchased with less than 180 calendar days remaining
in the year, the individual shall pay half of the regular cost for
each individual permit.
(2) There shall be no more than four permits per household.
E. Any owner of a corner property at an intersection of a resident-only
parking street shall be entitled to receive one parking permit from
the Township. The owner must apply for and submit all necessary paperwork
and applicable fees in order to receive such parking permit. The right
to obtain a parking permit does not extend to the tenant/leasee of
a corner property. It rests solely with the deeded owner(s) of the
property.
F. To receive a parking permit each applicant must produce at least
three out of five of the following:

(1) Driver's license at the claimed address (mandatory);
(2) Lease/deed for the claimed address;
(3) Certificate of habitability from the Department of Housing and Building
at the claimed address;
(4) Utility bill in the person's name at the claimed address; and/or
(5) Vehicle registered/insured at the claimed address.

A. There shall be business employee/employee permit parking Township-wide
between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at all public lots at
any meter in a commercial district.
B. Any employee who parks pursuant to the above provision must be employed
at a business in the Township and provide proof of same when requested.
C. A parked vehicle falling under the authority of this section must
properly display a parking permit decal, sticker or placard in a manner
that is clearly visible.
D. An monthly fee of $20 per vehicle must be paid to the Township of
Irvington upon registration with the licensing division of the Township.

A. Boats
and trailers used for the purpose of pulling or towing boats are prohibited
in driveways and yards of residential property.
B. Schedule
of fines. The fines for violations of this section are as follows:

the first violation: a fine of $50.
(2) For
the second violation: a fine of $250.
(3) For
the third violation: a fine of $500.
(4) For
the fourth violation: a fine of $1,000. In addition, a mandatory court

within four linear feet of the crossover width of a driveway where
the driveway meets the carriage way (i.e., the lower section of the

B. Enforcement. Enforcement of this section shall be the responsibility
of the Irvington Department of Public Safety. After the issuance of
a summons, such vehicle may be towed or otherwise removed from the
public street, with the owner of such vehicle being responsible for
the cost of such removal.
C. Penalties. Any person convicted of violating this section shall be
liable to a fine of $150 for each such violation, and each day in
which such violation continues shall constitute a separate violation
or offense.
