A certain document, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Cassville, being marked and designated as "The International Building Code, 2006 Edition," including Appendix Chapter A, Employee Qualifications, Chapter B, Board of Appeals, Chapter E, Supplementary Accessibility Requirements, Chapter G, Flood-Resistant Construction, Chapter I, Patio Covers, and Chapter J, Grading, as published by the International Code Council, be and is hereby adopted as the Building Code of the City of Cassville in the State of Missouri for regulating and governing the conditions and maintenance of all property, buildings and structures; by providing the standards for supplied utilities and facilities and other physical things and conditions essential to ensure that structures are safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use; and the condemnation of buildings and structures unfit for human occupancy and use and the demolition of such structures as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Building Code on file in the office of the City of Cassville are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this Article, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in Section 500.020 of this Article.

A. 
The following Sections or Appendixes of the International Building Code are hereby revised as follows:
1.

A. 
A residential building permit is required on any renovation, new construction and/or additions.
1. 
Permit Fees.
a. 
New residential construction: fifteen cents ($0.15) per square foot.
b. 
Garage/carport/outbuildings (separate or attached): seven cents ($0.07) per square foot.
c. 
Residential remodeling: ten cents ($0.10) per square foot.
d. 
The minimum fee for a residential building permit shall be twenty dollars ($20.00).
2. 
Permit fees for projects not classified as new construction or remodeling are:
a. 
Structural permit fee: twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
b. 
Electrical permit fee: twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
c. 
Mechanical permit fee: twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
d. 
Plumbing permit fee: twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
e. 
When a project requires multiple permits, the total fees charged will not exceed fifty dollars ($50.00). Excludes permits required in Subsection (A)(1) and Subsection (D)(1) through (8).
3. 
For each permit, one (1) re-inspection will be included. Two (2) or more re-inspections require an additional fee of twenty dollars ($20.00) each.
B. 
A commercial building permit is required for work that is regulated by the IBC 2006 and Cassville Municipal Code.
1. 
Permit Fees.
a. 
Four dollars ($4.00) per one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) of total project cost [twenty dollars ($20.00) minimum].
b. 
A building permit is required for buildings being constructed for and owned by entities that are subdivisions of the State of Missouri and any organization that qualifies as tax exempt under Section 501 C of the Internal Revenue Code. The permit fee shall be the City’s actual cost of inspections.
C. 
No permit is required for maintenance, repairs and/or alterations that do not require building/structural, electrical, mechanical or plumbing permits.
D. 
Other Required Permits And Fees.
1. 
Demolition: twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
2. 
Mobile home placement: twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
3. 
Residential re-roofing: twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
4. 
Driveways (new or replacement): twenty-five dollars ($25.00).
5. 
HVAC (heating per unit or A/C per unit): twenty dollars ($20.00) [combined heating and A/C unit: twenty-five dollars ($25.00)].
6. 
Street/curb cut: one hundred dollars ($100.00).
a. 
Five hundred dollar ($500.00) deposit (refunded once the street has been repaired to City of Cassville specifications and has been inspected by the Public Works Director).
7. 
Moving of buildings, mobile homes or structures: fifty dollars ($50.00).
8. 
Fees for work started before a permit is obtained (all Code requirements must be met): triple.
E. 
Permit Expiration.
1. 
Permits issued under Subsection (A)(1) will be valid for six (6) months and eligible for extension for another six (6) months with the Building Inspector's approval.
2. 
All other permits will be issued for a period of thirty (30) days.
