When any member of the Board of Appeals of the Town of Marion or the Planning Board of the Town of Marion fails to attend three consecutive regular meetings of such Board unless such absence is for good cause and is excused by the Chairman thereof or, in the case of such Chairman, by the Town Supervisor, the member shall be deemed to have vacated his office for purposes of the appointment of a successor.
When any member of the Board of Appeals of the Town of Marion or the Planning Board of the Town of Marion fails to attend 3/4 of the regular meetings of such Board during any calendar year, the member shall be deemed to have vacated his office effective January 1 of the next year for purposes of the appointment of a successor.
This article shall take effect immediately upon its filing with the Secretary of State of the State of New York; provided, however, that no member of the Board of Appeals or Planning Board shall be deemed to have vacated his office due to absences occurring prior to the effective date of this article.
