It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in or conduct
the business of transient merchant or itinerant vendor, as defined
by N.J.S.A. 45:24-1, without first obtaining a license to do so as
provided by N.J.S.A. 45:24-1 to 45:24-8 and this article.

The Chief License Clerk is hereby designated as the licensing
official who shall issue licenses to transient merchants and itinerant
vendors under this article.

The license fee for every transient merchant or itinerant vendor
shall be $538 and every such license shall expire 180 days after the
day of issuance.
The license provided for by this article shall not be transferable,
and in the event that such license shall be revoked no part of the
license fee will be returned to the licensee.

Before any license provided for in this article shall be issued,
the applicant therefor shall execute and deliver to the Chief License
Clerk a good and sufficient bond as provided for in N.J.S.A. 45:24-1
to 45:24-8 and shall further furnish the statements and instruments
in writing provided for in such sections.
