[HISTORY: Adopted by the Borough Council of the Borough of Spring Grove 9-5-1961 by Ord. No. 6-1961 (Ch. 31 of the 1985 Code). Amendments noted where applicable.]

The Borough Council creates a Department of Borough Planning.
Said Department shall be in charge of a Borough Planning Commission consisting of five persons who are residents of the Borough and who shall be appointed by the Borough Council.

The terms of office of the first members of said Planning Commission shall be specified at the time of their appointment.

The expiration of said terms shall date from January 1, 1962. In December of 1962 and in each December thereafter, the Borough Council shall appoint one or more residents to serve for a term of four years, so that the membership of said Commission shall always remain at five.
The members of said Commission shall serve without compensation. They shall meet annually during the month of January for the purpose of organizing and of making and altering rules and regulations for their own organization and procedure, consistent with the ordinances of the Borough and the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and to submit a report of their transactions to Borough Council.
Any vacancy that may arise in the membership of said Commission by reason of death, resignation or removal from the Borough shall be filled by Borough Council for the unexpired portion of the term.

Said Commission shall perform such duties and shall have such authority as is provided by the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code.[1]
