Adoption by reference is herewith made of specific sections of the Michigan Vehicle Code, concerning size, weight and load, namely:
(1) 
Section MCL 257.722 is herewith adopted by reference by the City, which section regulates maximum axle load; normal loading maximum; designating highways as adequate for heavier loading; restrictions as to tandem axle assemblies; normal size of tires; maximum wheel load; reduction of maximum axle load on concrete pavements during March, April, and May; exemptions; suspension of restrictions; determination of gross vehicle weight and axle weights; designation of highways for operation of certain vehicles; and, definitions thereunder.
(2) 
Section MCL 257.724 (MSA 9.2424) is herewith adopted by reference by the City of Corunna, which section grants authority to require weighing of vehicle; shifting or removal of load; impounding vehicle for nonpayment of fines and costs; lien; appearance before judge or magistrate; powers of agents of highway department or county road commission; penalty for weight violation; failure to stop at or avoidance of weight scales; penalty; use of duly marked vehicle by agent; and, failure to stop vehicle.

Adoption by reference by the City of Corunna is herewith made of the entire Motor Carrier Safety Act of 1963 (Act 181, Public Acts 1963), being Sections MCL 480.11 thru 480.22 as amended (MSA 9.1666(1) thru 9.1666(12) as amended) which Act promotes safety upon the public highways by regulating the operation of certain vehicles; provides consistent regulation of these areas by state agencies and local units of government; establishes the qualifications of persons necessary for the safe operation of such vehicles; limits the hours of service of persons engaged in operating such vehicles; requires the keeping of records of such operations; provides penalties for the violation of the Act; and prescribes the powers and duties of certain state agencies.
