A.
No person shall:
(1)
Deal, play or engage in faro, roulette, dice or card games or other
device involving wagers, bets or stakes.
(2)
Have in his possession any ticket, slip or other writing or printing
of an interest or share, or showing or indicating an interest, share,
bet or pledge, in any pool, lottery, race, contest or other game of
chance.
(3)
Gamble in any form.
(4)
Aid, abet, assist or participate in any such pool, lottery, race
or other contest or game of chance.
B.
This section shall not be construed to apply to:
(1)
The holding and operation of games of chance commonly known as "bingo"
or "lotto" under a license duly issued under the provisions of the
Bingo Licensing Law, and the holding and operation of games of chance
commonly known as a "raffle" or "raffles" under a license duly issued
under the provisions of the Raffles Licensing Law.[1]

(2)
The possession or custody of any ticket, slip, paper, document or
memorandum of a lottery which is authorized, sponsored and operated
by any state of the United States, provided that the ticket, slip,
paper, document or memorandum was purchased by the holder thereof
in the state wherein the lottery was authorized, sponsored and operated.
C.
Games of chance held pursuant to the Raffles Licensing Law (N.J.S.A.
5:8-50 et seq.) for which licenses shall be duly issued may be held
on Sundays.

No person shall loiter or assemble with others on any public
street or public or quasi-public place or in any public conveyance
within the Township so as to obstruct the free passage of pedestrians
or vehicles or obstruct, molest or interfere with any person lawfully
thereon or cause a disturbance thereon or refuse to move on or therefrom
after being ordered to do so by a police officer.[1]
No person shall throw stones, sticks or any hard, dangerous
or offensive substances in or into any public highway, park or public
place or at any person or at birds, animals, streetlights or lamps,
public conveyances, vehicles, houses, buildings or fences within the
Township limits.
No person shall distribute, deposit or leave on a public highway
or at any public or private place within the Township any merchandise
or samples or preparation represented to cure ailments or diseases
of the body or mind or any samples thereof or any advertisements or
circulars relating thereto; provided, however, that this section shall
not prohibit the delivery of any such article to any person above
the age of 12 years willing to receive the same.
No person shall place or keep on any windowsill, porch or on
any other part of a building any flowerpot, box, article or thing
whatsoever, unless such flowerpot, box or other article or thing is
securely and firmly fastened or protected so as to render it impossible
for the same to fall into a public street or place.
A.
No person shall enter any building or enclosure where any entertainment,
exhibition, contest or athletic game is being held and to which an
admission fee is charged without having first paid the admission fee
or without first having been given authoritative permission to enter
without paying the admission fee.
B.
Gaining entrance by any means other than an entrance where tickets
of admission are collected or by climbing or jumping over, through
or under any fence surrounding any field shall be deemed prima facie
evidence of unlawful entry.
No person shall engage in any game or sport on any public street
or public place to the danger of himself or others, except by permission
of and under such regulations as the Chief of Police may prescribe.
A.
No person shall resist, oppose, obstruct or hinder any Township officer
or employee or peace officer in the performance of his duty or refuse
or neglect to assist such officer, if lawfully required by him in
the discharge of his duty.
B.
No person in possession of any building or part thereof shall refuse
to permit the Construction Official, acting in his official capacity
and in accordance with law and at a reasonable hour, to have access
to such premises or refuse to comply with the proper orders of that
official with relation to any matter under his jurisdiction.
A.
All aisles and passageways in and approaches to buildings, places
or enclosures used for the purposes of public assembly, amusement
or instruction shall be kept free from obstruction.
B.
No person shall stand, lie or sit in or at the head of any aisle, lengthwise or transversely, in the seating area of any place, building or enclosure used for the purposes mentioned in Subsection A during the continuance of any performance or exhibition.
C.
No person shall stand in the rear of the seating area of any such place, building or enclosure used for the purposes mentioned in Subsection A unless there is a clear passage remaining beyond such standing room of at least three feet, and where the seating capacity is in excess of 300 persons, one foot in addition for each 100 of such seats, and unless such standing space is set apart and marked by means of a ribbon or other easily breakable material attached to posts fixed in stationary sockets.
No person shall, in a public place, and with purpose to offend
the sensibilities of a hearer or in reckless disregard of the probability
of so doing, address unreasonably loud and offensively coarse or abusive
language, given the circumstances of the person present and the setting
of the utterance, to any person present.
No person shall place, mark, post, or draw or cause to be placed,
marked, posted or drawn upon any fence, billboard, building, door,
wall, pavement or other surface visible from a public street or place
any obscene, indecent, offensive or profane word, picture, representation
or drawing.
No person shall:
A.
Willfully break or damage any streetlight or fixture, fire hose,
apparatus, police or fire box or any other public property.
B.
Mutilate, deface or disturb any fence, railing, bench, building or
other structure in any street, park or public place.
C.
Affix any object to any post, sign or other property of the Township
or of any utility company located in or on any public property, street
or public right-of-way.

A.
No person shall use, discharge or cause to be exploded any pistol,
revolver, gun, rifle, cannon or other weapon or device used to project
a missile, unless such person shall have obtained written permission
to do so from the Chief of Police of the Township.

A.
After the senior official of the Fire Department has established
fire lines at any distance from a fire, no person shall pass such
fire lines without his permission.
B.
No driver of any vehicle, other than one on official business, shall
park the vehicle within 200 feet of the point where any fire apparatus
has stopped in answer to a fire alarm.
A.
No person, other than a member of the Fire Department or Public Works
Department, shall open, use or tamper with any fire hydrant without
permission from the Chief of the Fire Department or, having such permission,
shall leave it unattended or depart from it leaving it open.
B.
No person shall place or deposit any material in or about any fire
hydrant which shall obstruct or be an impediment to the rapid use
or operation of the same.
No driver of any vehicle shall drive over or across any fire
hose in use or about to be used.
No person shall operate, sail or propel any canoe, boat, vessel
or craft on the Rahway River within the limits of the Township by
means of any engine, motor or power mechanism.

It shall be unlawful for any person or persons within the Township
of Cranford to cause or allow to be made any unreasonable noise within
areas zoned residential and emanating from the interior or exterior
of a residence within the Township, as follows:[1]
A.
No person shall operate or permit the use or operation of any radio
receiving set, musical instrument, television, audio media player,
drum, loudspeaker or amplifier, or other device for the production
or reproduction of sound in such a manner as to be plainly audible
at or beyond the real property line or through partitions common to
two parties within a building during the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 8:00
a.m.
B.
No person shall make, continue or cause to be made or continued any
loud, unnecessary or unusual noise or any noise which is plainly audible
at or beyond the real property line or through partitions common to
two parties within a building within the limits of the Township during
the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
C.
No person shall operate or permit the use or operation of any radio
receiving set, musical instrument, television, audio media player,
drum, loudspeaker or amplifier, or other device for the production
or reproduction of sound in such a manner as to be plainly audible
at or beyond the real property line or through partitions common to
two parties within a building, at any time, if the operation is continuous
or repetitive, or with such intensity so as to harass a person or
persons on nearby or adjoining properties or to disrupt the activities
normally conducted within the area.
