The Treasurer/Collector, in his/her capacity as Treasurer of
the Town, shall, in his/her annual report to the Town, state specifically
the objects for which the debt of the Town was increased during the
fiscal period for which he/she is reporting, and recite the vote of
the Town pursuant to which the money was borrowed. (1937: c. IX, s.

All moneys which may be deposited with the Town Treasurer for
the preservation, care, improvement and embellishing of any public
burial places in the Town of Ipswich, or burial lots located in the
same, shall be properly invested by the Treasurer, and separate accounts
shall be kept of such deposit, and the income thereof shall be applied
to the purposes specified by the depositor under the direction of
the persons entrusted by law or vote of the Town with the management
and control of burial places in said Town. (1937: c. XIV)

The Collector of Taxes shall collect, under the title of Town
Collector, all accounts due the Town and may take such legal action
as may be necessary to collect the same.

The Town Treasurer is authorized to sell, with the approval
of the Select Board, at public auction, any of the property which
the Town may have acquired, or may hereafter acquire, through proceedings
based upon nonpayment of taxes or under proceedings for the sale of
lands of low value, to impose upon the property so sold such restrictions,
reservations or conditions as shall be deemed expedient, and to execute
and deliver, in the name of and under the Seal of the Town, quitclaim
deeds or other instruments therefor.
