Borough of Sellersville, PA Traffic Regulations

Maximum speed limits are established on portions of specified streets as follows, and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle, on any part of a street where a maximum speed limit applies, at a higher speed than the maximum prescribed for that part of the street:[1]

§ 152-8 Traffic signals at certain locations.

At the following locations, traffic signals as indicated below shall be erected, and traffic at those locations shall be directed by those signals:

§ 152-10 One-way streets established.

The following are established as one-way streets, and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle on any one-way street other than in the established direction of travel as set forth below.

§ 152-11 One-way streets established at certain days and times.

The following are established as one-way streets at certain designated days and times, and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle on any one-way street in the prohibited direction of travel on the days and times set forth below:

§ 152-12 Stop intersections established.

The following intersections are established as stop intersections, and official stop signs shall be erected (or are ratified if previously erected) in such a position as to face traffic approaching the second-named street (the intersecting or through street) on the first-named street (the stop street) in the direction or directions indicated for that intersection. Every driver of a vehicle approaching the intersection on the first-named or stop street, in the direction indicated in each case, shall stop the vehicle as required by Section 3323(b) of the Vehicle Code[1] and shall not proceed into or across the second-named or intersecting of through street until he has followed all applicable requirements of that section of the law.

§ 152-13 Play highways established and authorized.

The Mayor is authorized to designate as play highways, whenever he deems that action advisable and for whatever period of time directed by him, any part of any street in the Borough, where sledding and coasting shall be permitted. That play highway shall be set apart for the purpose under the direction of the Mayor.

No person shall drive any motor vehicle upon any play highway at any time when that street shall be designated as a play highway, except in case of emergency, with special permission of the Mayor or of the police officer in charge, who shall first clear that play highway of all persons using it for the purpose for which it was set aside.

§ 152-14.1 Violations and penalties.

Except as otherwise provided in the Vehicle Code, this article shall be enforced by a criminal action in the same manner provided for the enforcement of summary offenses under the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure. A person convicted of violating this article shall be sentenced to pay a fine not to exceed $1,000 per violation, plus court costs and reasonable attorneys' fees incurred by the Borough of Sellersville, or to imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both. Violations of more than one provision of this article shall constitute separate violations. Each day that a violation of any provision of this article continues or occurs shall constitute a separate violation.
