Brooks Road is a Town of Pine Plains Town highway running from
Bean River Road generally south to the Town of North East line. At
the Town of North East line, Brooks Road continues as a Town of North
East town highway generally south to County Route 83. Approximately
425 feet north of the Town of North East boundary line, Shultz Hill
Road intersects with Brooks Road. The approximate length of that portion
of Brooks Road within the Town of North East is 1,150 feet. Brooks
Road is presently a two-way highway, but because of the grade and
present condition of the road it would be in the interest of health,
safety and welfare to designate that portion of Brooks Road from the
Town of North East line to the point of intersection with Shultz Hill
Road as a highway for one-way traffic only in a south-to-north direction.
That portion of Brooks Road running from the Town of North East
boundary line to the point of intersection with Shultz Hill Road is
hereby designated as a highway for one-way traffic only in a south-to-north
direction pursuant to § 1660(a)(16) of the Vehicle and Traffic
Law of the State of New York.
The Town Highway Superintendent is hereby authorized and directed
to post such signage on Brooks Road designating that portion of the
highway for one-way traffic as may be required by the provisions of
the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York.
Violations of this article shall be deemed to be traffic violations
as that term is defined by the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State
of New York and shall be subject to such fines and penalties as may
be prescribed by the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York.
The Police Department of the Town of Pine Plains, or its members,
shall be authorized to issue summons or appearance tickets for violations
of this article.
