It is the intent of the Town Council of the Town of Southington
to eliminate the sale and consumption of alcohol of its citizens under
the age of 21; and it is a proven deterrent on advertisements for
alcohol when a notice is placed upon the advertisement that the establishment
requires the showing of an ID and shall not sell to persons under
the age of 21.
A.
No person or business shall allow the advertisement of an alcoholic
event, i.e., happy hour or open bar event, when such advertisement
is placed in view of the general public, unless a notice is affixed
to the advertisement stating clearly that the person or business requires
the showing of identification for the consumption or purchase of the
alcohol and that no one under the age of 21 shall be allowed to consume
or purchase the alcohol.
B.
The notice shall state "must be 21 years and older" and "all patrons
served must show identification." This verbiage should be printed
in no less than 50% of the largest font on the advertisement.
Whoever violates the provisions of this article may be issued

B.
Each day any violation continues shall constitute a separate offense.
C.
