(a)
It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the temporary retail
sale or display of goods, wares, merchandise, or services, where the
value of any single item offered for display or sale exceeds $1,000,
and for the purpose of conducting said retail sale or display, occupy
any lot, building, room, or structure of any kind within the City,
without having first obtained a license and paid the license fee,
as hereinafter provided.
(b)
The license provided in this division shall be in addition to and
not in lieu of any other consent or permit as may be otherwise required
by law.
(c)
This section shall not apply to any established place of business
located within the City of Olean participating in a special event,
not-for-profit special event, or City-sponsored event.
The license fee for engaging in carrying on or conducting business
as a transient merchant shall be as specified below, payable in advance
for each day such business shall continue. Such license fee shall
be $100 per day for items $1,000 to $4,999; $500 per day for items
$5,000 and above.
