No building shall be moved over a public way without a written permit from the Board of Public Works, which permit shall state the size and characteristics of the building to be moved, and also the streets or ways over which said building is to be moved, and to be valid shall bear the approval of the Building Inspector and Board of Public Works, an affidavit of the Town Treasurer stating that the requirements of §§ 153-2 and 153-3 have been complied with; and shall also state any special conditions regarding such moving.
Before such permit shall become valid, the applicant shall furnish the Treasurer a satisfactory bond running to the Town in such sum as the Board of Public Works may designate, to hold the Town harmless against all damages, costs, and expenses, which it may be compelled to pay in consequence of the moving of such building, or of the acts or negligence of any parties connected therewith.

The fee for such permit for the removal of any building having a floor space of more than 150 square feet or a width greater than 12 feet shall be $300 which shall be paid to the said Treasurer who shall pay it over to the Town Collector.
Any person aggrieved by the refusal of the Board of Public Works to issue such a permit, or who considers the conditions specified therein unreasonable, may appeal to the Select Board who shall act as a Board of Appeals, and who may hold a public hearing, and their decision shall be final.
