Special categories:
(1)
Every garage, service station or structure used for storing, cleaning, selling or repairing automobiles shall be provided with drains for the floors, repair pits, and other locations to catch drainage and residue resulting from servicing or handling of cars, and the incidents of such service. If the drainage area abuts a street with sewer, it shall be connected with the sewer. The drainage shall be conducted to an intercepting pit of tight construction, which shall be ventilated by extending a pipe from it to a point two feet above the roof. The pit shall be constructed to enable oils, gasoline, grease and similar fluids, as well as sand, grit and other solids, to be intercepted and excluded from the public sewage system. The Township shall determine the size, location and type of pit to accommodate the proposed drainage. To protect the sanitary sewers and public safety, persons operating a garage or service station shall remove substances accumulated therein frequently enough to prevent the pits and the connecting pipes from becoming clogged.
(2)
Subhouse drains shall discharge into a sewage pump or receiving tank, the contents of which shall be lifted and discharged by a sewage grinder pump into the drainage system above the cellar floor by a method approved by the Township.
(3)
No person or entity shall allow waters from floor drains, sump pumps, wall gutters, roof leaders, French drains or perforated pipe to be collected and dispatched into the public sewage system by any direct or indirect means. No person shall connect or provide connection for any of the aforementioned sources of waters to the internal sewage line of any structure, structure line, sanitary sewer lateral or other part of the public sewage system.
(4)
All restaurants, mini-marts, fast food franchises and all other food preparation and sales facilities shall install and maintain a grease trap and interceptor that shall meet the technical requirements of the Township.
(5)
Drainage for trailer/mobile home/manufactured home parks or courts:
(a)
Building sewers from individual trailer/mobile home/manufactured home sites shall use service weight cast-iron pipe or SDR PVC, four inches in diameter or larger, and shall be properly connected to not fewer than one removable running trap to allow for cleaning, venting and sealing. Each structural sewage line shall be extended vertically to existing ground level and shall terminate not less than four inches above ground level.
(b)
The four-inch building (lateral) sewer extension above ground shall be located under the perimeter of the trailer/mobile home/manufactured home. No trailer/mobile home/manufactured home connection shall be permitted to a building sewer extension above ground which is not located beneath the trailer.
(c)
The four-inch extension above ground shall be protected by a concrete mound sufficient to prevent damage to the extension if it is struck by a moving vehicle.
(d)
All above-ground building sewer extensions shall be sealed by a fitted watertight cap when not in use.
(e)
A watertight connection between the trailer/mobile home/manufactured home and the building lateral extension outlet shall be made by means of a readily removable semi-rigid or flexible connector acceptable to the Township.
(f)
Flexible connectors installed at the connection of the building lateral extension outlet shall allow the connector to be readily removed from the outlet without damage to the sewer lateral outlet.
(g)
A plumbing permit shall be required each time a trailer/mobile home/manufactured home connection or disconnection is made. New connections and transfers of trailers/mobile homes/manufactured homes already within a park or court are not exempt from this requirement.
(h)
The requirements regarding inspection herein shall apply, except that a yearly inspection of all connections within a trailer/mobile home/manufactured home park or court shall be conducted by the Township.
(i)
All collector lines and building sewers shall be installed in accordance with technical standards of the Township.
