Maximum speed limits are established on portions of specified road,
as follows, and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle,
on any part of a road where a maximum speed limit applies, at a higher
speed than the maximum prescribed for that part of the road:

1.
The following intersections are established as stop intersections,
and official stop signs shall be erected (or are ratified if previously
erected) in such a position as to face traffic approaching the second-named
road (the intersecting through road) on the first-named road (the
stop road) in the direction or directions indicated for that intersection.
Every driver of a vehicle approaching the intersection on the first-named
road or stop road, in the direction indicated in each case, shall
stop the vehicle as required by § 3323(b) of the Vehicle
Code, and shall not proceed into or across the second-named road or
intersecting road until he has followed all applicable requirements
of that section of the law.

1.
It shall be unlawful at all times within the Township, for any person
operating, or being in physical control of a motor vehicle, to race
the engine of the vehicle, spin the tires, or to give a display of
acceleration, for no legitimate purpose.
2.
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle in
a physically offensive manner, or endanger, or cause annoyance or
alarm to the traveling public upon any highway, or traffic way, or
road within the boundaries of the Township of Cumberland.

1.
Each person within a motor vehicle is responsible for complying with
the provisions of this section pertaining to carrying open containers.
The operator of a motor vehicle is the person responsible for complying
with the provisions of this section that pertains to the storage of
an open container.
2.
Carrying or storing a bottle, can or other receptacle containing
an alcoholic beverage that is open, or has been opened, or whose seal
is broken or the contents of which have been partially removed, within
a motor vehicle in Cumberland Township is prohibited.
3.
Exceptions. This section does not apply to the following:
A.
An open container stored in the trunk of a motor vehicle or, if a
motor vehicle is not equipped with a trunk, to an open container stored
in some other portion of the vehicle designed for the storage of luggage
and not normally occupied by or readily accessible to the operator
or passengers.
B.
An open container stored in the living quarters of a motor home or
camper.
5.
Penalties. The violation of any provision of this section is punishable
by a fine not less than $50 and not more than $600 or imprisonment
of not less than five days.

1.
It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in rollerskating, skateboarding
or to ride upon or propel any coaster or other toy vehicle upon any
roadway except in order to cross the roadway.
2.
Penalty. Any person violating this section shall upon conviction
pay a fine of not less than $10 and not more than $100 plus the costs
of prosecution.

1.
On the following bridges and streets or parts of streets, by authority
granted under § 4902(a) of the Vehicle Code, it shall be
unlawful for any person or person(s) to drive any vehicle or combination
having a gross weight in excess of the maximum prescribed below for
that bridge or street or part of street, as the case may be.

Provided, nothing in this section shall prohibit any person
from driving an emergency vehicle, school bus, or commercial vehicle
making local pick-up and deliveries from any houses along these roads.

2.
The Board of Supervisors may issue permits for the movement of motor vehicles or combinations of size and weight in excess of restrictions imposed by Subsection 1, or require security as necessary to cover the cost of anticipated or probable repairs and/or restoration necessitated by the permitted movement of vehicles. All actions taken under the authority of this section shall be taken in accordance with rules and regulations adopted from time to time by the Board of Supervisors and in the absence thereof in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
3.
The Township shall erect or cause to be erected and maintained restriction
signs designating the restrictions at each end of a bridge or portion
of road restricted as provided in this section. In the case of a restriction
on a bridge or on a road which does not begin or end at an intersection
with an unrestricted road, the Township shall also place an advance
informational sign at the intersection nearest each end of the restricted
bridge or portion of road which would allow drivers to avoid the restricted
bridge or portion of road. No person shall be convicted of violating
any subsection of this section unless the restriction sign designating
the restricted bridge or portion of road to traffic moving in the
direction the person was driving was posted as required in this subsection.
4.
Any person operating a motor vehicle or combination upon a road or
bridge in violation of a prohibition or restriction imposed by this
section shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine and costs
as specified by § 4902 g-1 of the Vehicle Code of Pennsylvania.
