[Adopted 3-21-2016 by Ord. No. 2016-1]
Any person who is a relative of an elected official, department head, managerial executive or unclassified supervisory employee shall not be appointed, hired, employed or permitted to work for the municipality in any unclassified position.
Current employees of the Township, because of the fact that they enjoy vested rights in their employment, shall be exempt from the provisions hereof. Should said employment terminate, however, any future reemployment shall be subject to these provisions. It shall be the affirmative duty of both an elected official, department head, managerial executive, unclassified supervisor employee or employee, and a relative of same seeking employment, to immediately disclose any circumstances which may constitute a violation of this policy. Failure to do so will result in appropriate disciplinary and/or legal action and shall be grounds for termination from employment if not discovered until post-hire.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
RELATIVE
A parent, spouse, child, sibling, grandparent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, first or second cousin, in-law or step-relative, domestic partner, cohabitant, or a person with whom a significant committed relationship exists.
UNCLASSIFIED SUPERVISORY EMPLOYEE
A person appointed or hired within the Township government who has supervisory authority.
