AIR CONDITIONING
The cooling or dehumidification, or both, of space for human occupancy.
DIRECT WATER COOLING
The use of water as a refrigerant.
INDIRECT WATER COOLING
The use of water to extract heat from a refrigerant in a water-cooled condensing unit.
REFRIGERATION
The preservation of food products, process work and maintenance of storage temperature.

All cooling system water used for air conditioning or refrigeration, direct or indirect, shall have a means of disposal by either evaporating condensers, cooling tower, spray pond, storm sewer system or as a last resort the sanitary sewer system. Such cooling water shall never be discharged onto a sidewalk or street. All existing systems have one year to comply with this article.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this article shall be fined not more than $300 and/or imprisoned not more than 90 days.
