It is hereby unlawful to allow or maintain weeds on any lot
within the corporate limits of Charlestown Township.

The existence of weeds on any lot within the corporate limits
of Charlestown Township is hereby declared a nuisance and said weeds
may be removed or destroyed under the supervision of the Board of
Supervisors of Charlestown Township and the cost of said removal or
destruction shall be assessed against the owner or owners of such
lots.

For purposes of this Part, weeds shall include, but shall not
be limited to, all rank vegetable growths which exhale unpleasant
and noxious odors and also all growths of any nature exceeding one-foot
in height, except edible and ornamental plants, trees and shrubbery.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision
of this Part, upon conviction thereof in an action brought before
a magisterial district judge in the manner provided for the enforcement
of summary offenses under the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure,
shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $1,000 plus costs
and, in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment
not to exceed 90 days. Each day that a violation of this Part continues
or each section of this Part which shall be found to have been violated
shall constitute a separate offense.
