There is hereby created pursuant to the provisions of the Act,[1] a political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia,
with such public and corporate powers as are set forth in the Act.

The name of the Authority shall be the Economic Development
Authority of Mathews County, Virginia.
[Amended 9-27-2021]
The Authority shall be governed by a Board of Directors of five
to seven members to be appointed by resolution of the Board of Supervisors.
The Chairman of the Board of Supervisors is authorized to call the
initial meeting of the Board of Directors of the Authority in the
manner provided for the call of special meetings of the Board of Supervisors.
