A. 
In the event of any inconsistency, conflict or contradiction between any provisions of either the Fire Prevention Code or the Uniform Fire Safety Act, N.J.S.A. 52:27D-192 et seq., shall be locally enforced in the Borough in accordance with the Uniform Fire Code, N.J.A.C. 5:70-1.1 et seq., and as same may be amended.[1]

B. 
Borough of Demarest and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein; and from the date on which this article shall take effect, the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the limits of the Borough of Demarest.[2]

The Chief of the Fire Department shall be elected by the Volunteer Fire Association of the Borough of Demarest for a period of not more than one year.

A. 
A false fire alarm is any signal or message received by the Fire Department to which the Fire Department responds, which Signal or message was directly or indirectly brought about or produced by an alarm device of any type and the assistance of the Fire Department was not required.
B. 
In the case of any false fire alarm, any person having knowledge of such false fire alarm shall immediately notify the Fire Department. In addition, the Fire Official or his designee shall cause an investigation to be made and shall keep a record of said alarms on file.
C. 
For such false alarms, the Mayor and Council prescribes the following penalties in that if the number of false alarms indicated occur within any twelve-month period, the corresponding penalty shall apply:
