Salary, wages, compensation terms, and benefits shall be set by ordinance as required by law, and the Employee Handbook shall be updated and revised accordingly.
Healthcare benefits shall be provided to eligible permanent employees who work on average 30 hours or more a week in compliance with the Employee Handbook, summary plan description, master contract or plan documents, the state health benefits plan, and applicable regulations, Chapter 88, P.L. 1974, Chapter 2, P.L. 2010, Chapter 78, P.L. 2011 (June 2011) and, to the extent mandated, the Affordable Care Act, P.L. 111-148, 111th Congress, as amended.
In the case of a leave of absence, resignation, or retirement, the payroll department of the Township shall prorate paid time off (examples: sick and vacation leave) to determine the employee's amount of accrued, unused paid time off, if any. Prorating shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of the Employee Handbook.
A. 
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 43:15C-2, the following positions are deemed to be eligible for and shall participate in the defined contribution retirement program: Municipal Court Judge; Commissioner; Administrator; and Deputy Director.

Individuals serving in the following positions are exempt from defined contribution retirement program membership, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 43:15C-2: Tax Collector; Chief Financial Officer; Construction Code Official; Qualified Purchasing Agent; Tax Assessor; Registered Municipal Clerk; Licensed Uniform Sub-Code Inspector; and Principal Public Works Manager.
C. 
This section shall be implemented, construed and subject to the aforesaid Chapter 92 of the Laws of 2007 (N.J.S.A. 43:15C-1, et seq.), as amended from time to time, and any regulations or guidance documents from the Local Finance Board or the Division of Pensions and Benefits.
