This Part shall be known as the "Harmar Township Water Supply System Ordinance."

1. 
This Part is adopted for the following purposes:
A. 
To protect and provide for the public health, safety and general welfare of the citizens of the Township.
B. 
To insure an adequate and safe water supply for the people of the Township.
C. 
To further define the relationship between the Township (hereinafter "Township") and the Municipal Authority of the Township (hereinafter "Authority") with respect to the Authority's responsibility for the water supply system within the Township.

This Part applies to all property and buildings within the Township used for human occupancy, to which the Authority water system is available; provided, that buildings utilizing a functioning well for water supply at the time of adoption of this Part shall be exempt; provided, further, that any additional buildings or structures erected upon such exempt property after adoption of this Part shall be subject to this Part.

The Authority shall have the power to waive the mandatory connection to the Authority water supply as necessary under the Municipality Authorities Act of 1945, 53 P.S. § 301 et seq.
