It shall be unlawful for any person to sell, offer for sale or give away, except from 8:00 A.M. June twentieth (20th) to 11:59 P.M. July fifth (5th), any type or kind of fireworks or firecrackers within the corporate limits of this Village. No fireworks shall be sold on these dates after 10:00 P.M., except that sales shall be permitted until 11:59 P.M. on July fourth (4th) and July fifth (5th).
No person shall sell, offer for sale or give away any type or kind of fireworks or firecrackers within the corporate limits of this Village without first having secured from the Village Clerk a fireworks sales permit, the cost of which shall be twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per calendar year or for any portion thereof. Such permit shall be publicly displayed in a suitable location for inspection at the shop, store or stand in which the articles above referred to are for sale.
Every person who shall sell or display for sale any fireworks or firecrackers shall display in a conspicuous place a sign or placard, printed in bold letters not smaller than one (1) inch in height, the following:

Fireworks and firecrackers shall not be sold or advertised for sale from or on any street, alley, sidewalk or other public property within the corporate limits of this Village.
It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge or shoot any type of fireworks or firecrackers at any time in or on any public street, public sidewalk, public park, public grounds or within the business district of the Village, except, however, the Board of Trustees, by resolution, may permit the discharge or shooting of fireworks or firecrackers on public property within the Village corporate limits on July fourth (4th), if the same is a public display for which no admission charge is collected and if the same is sponsored and conducted by a local organization.
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to discharge any fireworks, firecrackers or other similar contraptions or innovations within the corporate limits of the Village of Airport Drive except only on their own property or upon property whose owner has given his/her consent therefore and only from June twentieth (20th) to July fifth (5th) between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 10:00 P.M., except that fireworks may be discharged until 11:59 P.M. on July fourth (4th); and fireworks also may be discharged between the hours of 10:00 P.M. on December thirty-first (31st) thorough 1:00 A.M. on January first (1st). In addition, the sale of fireworks from an enclosed and established business is allowed in the Village, if allowed by the State of Missouri, commencing on December twentieth (20th) and continuing until January second (2nd), upon application and payment of an appropriate fee of fifty dollars ($50.00).
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to discharge bottle rockets within the corporate limits of this Village at any time.
The Board of Trustees may, upon application and payment of a fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00), permit public displays of 1.3g (formerly Class B) and 1.4g (formerly Class C) fireworks for public or private displays, provided that the promoter who desires to put on such display shall first receive an operational permit from the Fire Chief, or his designee, allowing such display and specifying the nature thereof as well as the time and place at which it is to take place; submit copy of the Missouri State Shooter's license; and submit a copy of a one-million-dollar surety bond or insurance. Public displays shall be under the supervision of the Fire Chief or his designee and subject to the provisions of the International Fire Code and applicable Sections of the Village Code of Ordinances. Displays shall have at least one (1) Fire Department truck and appropriate personnel standing by on site for the duration of the display plus one (1) hour for safety checks as determined by the Fire Chief. Costs of the Fire Department standby shall be at the promoter's expense.
