[Adopted 3-24-2003 by L.L. No. 1-2003 as § 245 of the 2003 Code]
The Fire Prevention Code (§ 701) and Fire and Smoke Detection Code (§ 702)[1] are enforced by the Building Inspector and the appointed Fire Inspector.

The Fire Inspectors report all proceedings under the fire codes, and statistics they deem appropriate, to the Village Board quarterly.
After giving affected persons an opportunity to be heard, the Fire Inspectors determine and specify new materials, processes or occupancies which shall require permits, in addition to those listed in § 701.[1]

The following decisions of the Fire Inspectors may be appealed to the Village Board within 30 days:
A. 
Applications and permits. Any disapproved applications or permits.
B. 
Application of the fire code. Any claims that the provisions of the code do not apply to a specific situation.
C. 
Interpretation of the fire code. Any claims that the true intent and meaning of the code have been misconstrued or wrongly interpreted.
