[Through Local Law No. 1-2014, adopted by the Board of
Trustees April 2, 2014, and approved by the electors at a permissive
referendum on April 16, 2014, the Village of East Syracuse voted to
abolish the Village of East Syracuse Police Department pursuant to
§ 8-800 of New York State Village Law and transfer the function
of the Village Police Department to the Town of DeWitt Police Department
and to enter into a proposed contract with the Town of DeWitt for
the extension of additional police services within the Village of
East Syracuse.]
