Chapter VIII of the New Jersey Sanitary Code, "Body Art Procedures,"
N.J.A.C. 8:27-1 et seq., is hereby supplemented by the following.
Operating hours shall be between 12:00 noon and 8:00 p.m., seven
days a week.
The signage must be approved by the Municipal Land Use Board
and the Board of Health.
The operator of a tattoo and/or body piercing establishment
must have professional liability insurance at a minimum of $1,000,000
at all times.
All consent forms utilized by the tattoo and/or body piercing
establishment must be first approved by the Emerson Board of Health.
Tattoo and/or body piercing establishment records are to be
kept on the premises for at least five years and made available upon
request to the health official.
A.
No minors under the age of 18, even with a parent's consent, are
allowed into a tattoo and/or body piercing establishment.
B.
Appointments only.
C.
No smoking is allowed in a tattoo and/or body piercing establishment.
D.
No permanent cosmetic procedures allowed.
E.
No eating will be allowed, except in a separate, enclosed and isolated
area where cross-contamination from tattoo and/or body piercing procedures
is not possible.
F.
No operator can open for business without having first obtained the
following: current blood-borne pathogens training, a regulated medical
waste generator's permit, and a letter of approval from their landlord
for this use.
