This article shall be known and may be cited as the "Street/Road
Name, Address and Sign Ordinance of Metal Township."
This article is adopted pursuant to the provisions of the Pennsylvania
Second Class Township Code, Act of May 1, 1933 (P.L. 103, No 69) reenacted
and amended November 9, 1995 (P.L. 350, No. 60), as amended.
For the purpose of this article only, the following terms shall
have the meanings indicated:
PRINCIPAL STRUCTURE
Any dwelling of any size, any commercial building of any
size, any enclosed structure (whether used for storage, etc.) 500
square feet or more in area, and any partially enclosed structure
800 square feet or more in area.
Any person, firm or corporation who shall number or attempt
to number any house, building or structure contrary to this article
or who shall, after six months of release of address change notification
letters and within 30 days of notification by the Metal Township Board
of Supervisors, fail or neglect to number their property in accordance
herewith, or who shall fail to change the number thereof or fail to
remove the old number in cases of a number change, and any person
or persons who shall alter, deface, remove, or destroy any number
or sign required to be displayed by this article, or who otherwise
violates any of the provisions of this article, shall be guilty of
a summary offense and, upon conviction thereof, shall, at the discretion
of the court, be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $300 for
the first offense and not more than $1,000 for the second and all
other offenses, plus the costs of prosecution and reasonable attorneys'
fees, and in default of payment thereof, to imprisonment of not more
than 30 days. Each day's violation of any of the provisions of
this article shall constitute a separate offense.
