A. 
Only residents, freeholders and taxpayers may take fish from bodies of fresh water in the Town of Southampton.
B. 
A temporary resident or person other than a resident, freeholder or taxpayer may take fish from bodies of fresh water in the Town of Southampton only when accompanied by a guide licensed by the Trustees.
A. 
Species: trout.
(1) 
Trout in lakes and ponds, freshwater (nontidal):
(a) 
Species: brook, brown, rainbow and splake.

Open season: all year.
[2] 
Minimum size: any size (except Wildwood Lake: nine-inch limit).
[3] 
Daily take: three.
(2) 
Trout in streams, all freshwater (nontidal):
(a) 
Species: brown and rainbow trout.

Open season: all year.
[2] 
Minimum size: any size.
[3] 
Daily take: three.
(b) 
Species: brook trout.
[1] 
Open season: April 1 through September 30.
[2] 
Catch and release only.
B. 
Species: black bass (small-mouth and large-mouth).
[NOTE: It is illegal to fish for bass during the period May 1 through the Friday preceding the first Saturday in June.]

Open season: first Saturday in June through November 30:
(a) 
Minimum size: 12 inches.
(b) 
Daily take: five.
(2) 
Open season: December 1 through April 30:
(a) 
Catch and release only.

Species: pickerel.
(1) 
Open season: first Saturday in May through March 15.
(2) 
Minimum size: 18 inches.
(3) 
Daily take: three.

Species: bullhead, carp, rock bass, white perch, catfish and suckers.

Open season: all year.
(2) 
Minimum size: any size.
(3) 
Daily take: no limit.
E. 
Species: sunfish (blue gill and pumpkinseed) and yellow perch.
(1) 
Open season: all year.
(2) 
Minimum size: any size.
(3) 
Daily limit: 15.
F. 
Species: Crappie.
(1) 
Open season: all year.
(2) 
Minimum size: nine inches.
(3) 
Daily limit: 15.
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no person shall take elvers (baby eels) by any means from any Town waters.
