As used in this article, the term "lodginghouse" shall mean
any hotel, motel or roominghouse.

Any person engaged in operating any lodginghouse shall cause
each sleeping room and apartment to be numbered in a plain and conspicuous
manner. The number shall be placed on the outside of the door of such
room and no two doors shall bear the same number.

Any proprietor or operator of any lodginghouse shall give in
good faith all reasonable assistance to any peace officer in the performance
of his official duties.

A. Every person owning, conducting or operating a lodginghouse in the
City shall keep a book or register in which the name, post office
address, date upon which such guest enters such lodginghouse, and
the number of the room occupied by each guest shall be recorded. The
pages of such register shall be properly ruled for the recording of
such information.
B. Such register shall be subject to inspection at any reasonable time
by any peace officer of the United States, the state or the City for
a purpose that is within the scope of his authority and duties.
C. The person owning or operating any lodginghouse shall faithfully
keep and preserve all such registers and each page thereof for a period
of at least three years from the date of the last registration made
therein.

A. Before any person shall be accepted as a guest at any lodginghouse,
he shall register his name, and address on the required register.
The lodginghouse operator or his duly authorized agent shall enter
in such register such additional entries as are required by ordinance.
The guest shall register his name and address in his own handwriting
in a legible manner.
B. It shall be unlawful for any person to write or cause to be written
in any lodginghouse register, any other than the true and full name
by which he is known.
