If any officer or employee is required by law, or by this Charter,
or by ordinance, or resolution, to give bond, he shall not be deemed
qualified for his office until such bond has been duly approved and
filed. All such bonds must be approved by the city attorney as to
form, and by the board of commissioners as to sufficiency and validity,
and deposited with the proper custodian, as herein provided. Before
any officer or employee of whom a bond is required, shall enter upon
the duties of his office, he shall deliver such official bond to the
board of commissioners in such penal sum as shall be required, executed
by some solvent surety company authorized to transact business in
Oklahoma, conditioned that he shall faithfully and impartially perform
the duties of such office or employment, and account for all moneys
or other things of value which may come into his hands by virtue of
his office or employment, the cost of such bonds are to be paid by
the city.
All bonds of elective or appointive officers and employees shall,
when approved as in this Charter provided, be deposited with and held
by the city clerk, except the bond of the city clerk, which shall
be deposited with, and held by the chairman of the board.
