It is the established policy of the Town of Lake George that the safe and orderly movement of vehicular and pedestrian traffic in and around Westbrook Road is essential to the public welfare, and this article is adopted for the purpose of promoting such policy.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
PARK or PARKING
The stopping of a vehicle, whether or not attended or occupied, for an interval of time longer than necessary for loading.
PAYSTATION
An electronic payment machine located along a Town street within the Town of Lake George that collects payments for a parking allowance of a specific duration of time.
A. 
It shall be unlawful and in violation of this article for any person to park, and for any person to cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered in their name, or operated by them, to be parked, along the northern side of Westbrook Road in the Town, from the Route 9 intersection to the intersection at Beach Road. "No Parking" signs are situated along this side of the road to identify the parking prohibition. The one exception to this prohibition is to allow the designated enforcement authority to park temporarily while enforcing if no other spots are available.
B. 
It shall be unlawful and in violation of this article for any person to park, and for any person to cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered in their name, or operated by them, to be parked, overnight (between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.) along Westbrook Road in the Town of Lake George.
C. 
It shall be unlawful and in violation of this article for any person to park, and for any person to cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered in their name, or operated by them, to be parked, on the south side of Westbrook Road without making payment at one of the designated paystations located along the street. The one exception to this prohibition is to allow parking in metered spaces between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. without making payment to a paystation.
A. 
Enforcement. Enforcement of this article will be carried out by Town and/or Village of Lake George parking enforcement staffs, which are authorized by this article, or by an intermunicipal agreement, to enforce this article.
B. 
Every person who shall violate any provision of this article shall be guilty of an offense punishable by a fine of not more than $25 per incident.
If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section or part of this article shall be adjudged by any court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, such judgment shall not affect, impair or invalidate the remainder thereof but shall be confined in its operation to the clause, sentence, paragraph, section or part thereof directly involved in the controversy in which such judgment shall have been rendered.
